LEGO to Release New Kit Featuring Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Apr 25, 2016

Summary
Salivating over the Porsche 911 GT3 RS but can't afford it? LEGO has come to your rescue.

Next up in the list of toys for people who love really expensive cars but can't afford them: rather than pony up just over $200,000 for a real Porsche 911 GT3 RS, you can now get your mitts on the LEGO version for a much more reasonable -- but still very expensive as far as LEGO is concerned -- $349.99.

That said, the kit is highly detailed and includes 2,704 pieces that fit together in a sequence that mimics the car's actual assembly process. When you're done, you'll have a 1:8 scale model of the original with a detailed flat-six engine with moving pistons and a working gearbox, a steering wheel with moving paddle shifters, doors and a hood that open with a storage compartment that holds an included suitcase, and a glove box that contains the kit's unique serial number.

Aesthetically, LEGO's version has orange bodywork with an adjustable rear spoiler, red suspension springs, detailed headlights and taillights, and RS rims with low-profile tires.

Rated for builders aged 16 or older, this new kit will be available beginning June 1st and can be purchased directly from LEGO Stores and online.
