Audi Recalls New Q7 to Reprogram Airbag Software

Front airbags could deploy too forcefully

German manufacturer Audi is recalling more than 2,100 examples of its all-new 2017 Q7 crossover to reprogram front airbags that could deploy too forcefully.

Audi says the cars may have been manufactured with incorrect software in the airbag control unit, and this could cause the front airbags to deploy with too much force relative to the severity of the collision, which could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

The automaker is instructing its dealers to update the airbag control software.
