The Newest Gran Turismo Sport Trailer is Stunning

Polyphony Digital and Sony showed off the latest trailer for Gran Turismo Sport this weekend, and the new footage is stunning.

The trailer shows off amazing environmental effects, like dust and smoke, but that's not all that catches your eye in the clip. The lighting detail, reflections, and car models make the just-released Forza Horizon 3 look dated already. There is even lighting haze and what looks like fog in front of the track's spotlights. If you've got a 4K high dynamic range (HDR) display, then the trailer will probably look even better, as the companies say the trailer is designed to help showcase those effects. The new PS4 Pro console is now capable of rendering that in-game. If you have a VR headset to go with, you will be able to follow the cars with that for even more realism.

The trailer also shows some of the cars that will be offered in the newest Gran Turismo game. The trailer is full of cars like the all-new Acura NSX, a stable of GT racing cars including Corvettes, Alfas, Mercedes, and BMW M4s. There's even a rally-car Ford Mustang. The detail in the game is so high that even the pit crews look real.

GT Sport was expected to release this past November, but the release date has been pushed into 2017 for more polishing. If the full game looks as good as this trailer, then it will be worth the wait.
