Porsche Prices GTS Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa Variants

New 911 gets GTS treatment

Porsche has announced five new Carrera GTS variants of its 911 sports car in coupe, cabriolet and targa body styles, priced from $136,000. The latest additions take the number of 911 models in the current generation to 25.

All five models share a 3.0L turbocharged flat-six borrowed from lesser 911 models, but fitted with larger turbochargers that endow it with a bonus of 30 hp and 37 lb-ft of torque compared to the Carrera S (and 20 hp more than the 2016 Porsche 911 GTS), for totals of 450 hp and 405 lb-ft. A seven-speed manual transmission comes standard, and Porsche's PDK dual-clutch automatic is an option; Porsche says the Carrera 4 GTS coupe does the zero-to-100 km/h sprint in 3.6 seconds, and that all versions will top 300 km/h.

Coupe and cabriolet models start as rear-drivers and can be optioned with four-wheel drive, while the Targa gets all-wheel traction as standard. All variants get Porsche's active suspension management (PASM), and coupe models further benefit from a sport version of that system that lowers the ride height by 10 mm.

Porsche says functional exterior changes include a front end spoiler lip and an extended rear spoiler to reduce front and rear lift, and 20-inch centre-lock wheels.

Pricing starts at $136,000 for the RWD Carrera GTS coupe and $150,000 for a RWD GTS Cabriolet; AWD adds $7,900 to each, and the Targa 4 GTS comes in at $157,900. The 911 GTS variants are set to reach dealerships in the second quarter of this year.
