Scarlett Johansson to Ride Honda in Ghost in the Shell Movie

Ghost in the Shell is a film adaptation of the long-running Japanese manga. The film stars Scarlett Johansson as a cyber-enhanced human fighting crime in 2029 Japan. It also stars a one-off version of Honda's already futuristic NM4 Vultus as her main ride in the movie.

The production NM4 already has a stealth-inspired, comic book future look that we said "looks like something out of a futuristic Batman cartoon" when it launched in 2014. It has a 745cc liquid-cooled twin and a six-speed dual clutch transmission. For the movie, it gets even more of the futuristic bits and a little less of the strange.

For starters, that backrest seat is gone in favour of something a little more conventional sportbike. The massive saddlebags are gone too. The movie bike looks to be all carbon fibre, and has fully covered wheels. Every future bike or car needs covered wheels because that's where the could be electric motor/could be hover-jets hide.

Honda provided the sketches used to build the movie bike, and it will keep Honda branding in the movie. Ghost in the Shell opens in theatres March 31st. The bike will be shown at the Osaka Motorcycle Show this weekend.
