Nissan Will Start Making OEM Replacement Parts For Classic Skyline Models

Apr 27, 2017

Summary
Go-fast parts will go fast

Nissan has announced its NISMO performance brand will launch a heritage parts program to restart production of replacement parts for some of its classic performance models, starting with the R32 Skyline GT-R.

We'd call that a good starting point: the Skyline was never sold in North America, but a significant number of the R32 and R34 versions of the RHD AWD sports cars have been imported into North America in recent years by Japanese sports car enthusiasts.

Nissan says it will begin the production and sale of R32 parts this fall, with an eye to expanding the program to supply parts for other cars.

If a lack of quality replacement parts is what has held you back from seeking out a grey market Skyline GT-R, here's your chance to jump on the bandwagon. Best to start shopping for your project car now, however, as we suspect better parts availability will drive up demand -- and prices -- for classic GT-R models.
