Pfaff Automotive Bringing Track-Ready BAC Mono to Canada
The BAC Mono is a single-seat race car that you may have seen destroying the Top Gear test track, or maybe even driven yourself virtually in Forza Horizon 3. Now the extreme track toy is coming to Canada.
Pfaff Automotive, a Canadian dealer group that already offers new exotics like McLaren, Pagani, and even Singer Porsches, will be the one place in Canada you can buy a new Mono.
BAC, formally the Briggs Automotive Company, builds the Mono using carbon construction on a steel chassis. It's an open cockpit, holding just one centre-mount seat, and minimal bodywork. The lightweight materials and simple design give the Mono a weight of under 600 kg. Combined with a Mountune engineered 2.5L four-cylinder and a six-speed sequential gearbox made by Hewland and designed for F3 cars, the Mono is incredibly fast. It's capable of 0-100 km/h in under 3.0 seconds and can do 274 km/h flat out. Helping it corner as fast as it goes are open-wheel racer style Sachs pushrod actuated dampers and AP Racing brakes.
While the Mono is a road-legal car at home in the UK, the rules are a little different here. That means that the Mono is strictly track-only. For now at least. But if you want one of the fastest track tools around to challenge lap records on one of Canada's wonderful racetracks, Pfaff will be happy to help put you in one.
