Jaguar's SVO Teases Most Powerful Road Jaguar Ever

Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations has just announced what they're calling the most powerful road legal Jaguar ever. The XE SV Project 8 boasts 600 hp, is extremely limited edition, and is currently in testing on the Nürburgring.
Jaguar's second collector's edition SVO project follows the D-Type inspired F-Type Project 7 from last year. The XE uses the same supercharged 5.0L V8, but this time power gets bumped from the 575 of the F-Type to a nice round 600.
Jaguar SVO manager John Edwards says that the Project 8, based on the 2018 Jaguar XE sedan, is "the most extreme performance road car in the history of Jaguar." He also said that the new car "takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level." We're not sure what that means exactly, but even in SVO exclusive camouflage, the car looks stunning. That massive (and looking to be adjustable) rear wing sets a serious speed expectation.
Jaguar's making the full reveal of the XE SV Project 8 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 28th. If you want to put an order down for one, better move fast. Jaguar says that they won't make more than 300 of the hand-assembled cars, and that "the price for such an extreme performance sports car available in strictly limited numbers will reflect that."
While we wait for the full reveal, here is some video of the XE on the 'Ring.
