New Bentley Special Inspired By Yachts

Jul 25, 2017

Summary
Bentley gets even more yachtlike

It's the latest super-special edition from Bentley and their bespoke division Mulliner. But where do you go after fly-fishing or falconry? On a yacht, of course.

It's the Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene Edition by Mulliner. While that name is a bit of a mouthful, call it the Bentley Galene. It's named after the Greek goddess of calm seas, and is limited to just 30 examples.

Mulliner has taken inspiration from Princess Yachts. Princess has been building luxury boats since 1965. The Galene is painted in Glacier White, with brilliant Sequin Blue chrome trim. Other exterior details include the dark blue roof and 21-inch Propeller-style wheels.

Inside, the seats are Linen-coloured leather, with Portland inserts. The stitching is contrasting in Camel coloured thread. The dashboard is Brunel blue with a contrasting brown stripe. The doors match the Linen, Portland, and Brunel of the rest of the interior.

The glove compartment, or "stowage case" in Bentley-speak is lined with Brunel Alcantara. With the Galene, the door of the case can be had with a hand painted super yacht illustration by Spanish illustrator Jaume Vilardell.

The wood trim for the cabin and the trunk is a new finish for Mulliner. The Pinstripe Walnut is an open-pore wood veneer to give a more natural and authentic look.

The Continental GT Convertible Galene Edition by Mulliner is powered by the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 from the regular GT. It makes 507 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque.

The Galene is available now, but with just 30 copies being made, it will likely disappear fast.
