Ram Farms Out Colour Choices For New Harvest Edition Pickups

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram truck division is getting set to roll out its first-ever pickup variants tailored to the agricultural market.

Dubbed the Harvest Edition, the new trim is distinguished by a pair of paint colours modeled after the red and blue used by agricultural equipment manufacturers Case and New Holland.

Why no John Deere green-and-yellow, when it's arguably the most recognizable brand of farm equipment? Easy: the Case and New Holland brands are both manufactured by CNH Industrial, which is part of the FCA group of companies.

FCA says the new trim, offered on 1500 and heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models, differs from the rest of the Ram range for more than just unique paint options: All versions get a one-inch bump in ride height, tubular side steps, spray-in bedliner, fold-out bumper step, mud flaps, rubber floor mats, skid plates, tow hooks. There are also trim-specific tires on chrome wheels for 1500 models and polished forged aluminum rims on the heavy-duty trucks, which also gain heated front seats.

And just in case you don't want your truck to match your tractor, the Harvest Edition trucks can also be had in white and black.

The Ram Harvest Edition models go on sale next month at $46,490 for 1500 models, and $54,690 for heavy duty models.
