Jeep Refreshes Renegade for 2019

Jun 6, 2018

Summary
I say hey, hey hey hey! Jeep's updating Renegades

Jeep has taken the wraps off of a refreshed Renegade at the Torino Motor Show.

It seems like a strange place to reveal an update to Jeep's smallest model, but the Turin show is the home auto show for the Renegade, which is built in Melfi, Italy. The new model was shown in Turin's Valentino park, the country's first public garden and home to several Grand Prix races in the 1930s to 1950s.

The update adds more modern headlights that look like the LED lights offered on the new JL Wrangler. The side lights that flank the headlights are now white instead of orange, which adds a cleaner look to the nose.

The photos are of the top trim model, so baser cars might not get those headlights. But they should get the revised grille that wears wider slats as well as a new mesh. Below that, the lower marker lights have been integrated into corner vents and the fog lights have been moved inward to the lower mesh grille. There is more body colour in the new look and less grey plastic.

At the rear, the white X in the Jerry-can-look taillights has shrunk and the black plastic surround appears to be gone. Or at least much smaller. The mirrors have new turn signal repeaters.

Jeep isn't showing the interior of the new model yet but has said to expect more info later this month. That includes new engines, which Jeep has said to expect but not named.
