Jaguar Launches Refreshed XE Sedan

Feb 27, 2019

Summary
Sleeker, techier cat

Jaguar is revealing a new and refreshed XE sedan. The car gets a new face, new interior with new infotainment, and a camera rear-view mirror.

For 2020, Jaguar's smallest sedan gets a new face. There are new bumpers at both ends. Up front, the car has larger openings that frame a new mesh grille. The cat's eyes are new slim lights that are full-LED and have a J-shaped LED accent light.

Inside, Jaguar says the cabin is all new. That means not just a redesign, but new materials. Jaguar says that it has more soft-touch materials, premium veneers, and an all-new door design. A new 10.0-inch upper touchscreen sports Jaguar's InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system. It's similar to the one from the i-Pace electric SUV and uses two high-resolution screens to control the audio system, as well as cabin comfort settings. The system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The roof antenna now holds a wide-angle camera that supports the ClearSight mirror. The mirror toggles between conventional reflection and a camera view that Jag says gives drivers a better look behind.

The car continues with two versions of the 2.0L turbo four: one with 247 hp and one with 296 hp. There's a new gear selector replacing the rotary controller, and the car has available adaptive dynamics. Both power levels have all-wheel drive as standard.

2020 Jaguar XE Canadian pricing:
SE P250 AWD $49,900
R-Dynamic SE P300 AWD $55,800
