Subaru today announced updates and pricing for the 2020 WRX and WRX STI sport sedans, including a $29,995 starting price for the WRX held over from 2019.
Both versions of the car get a handful of running changes. Subaru has revised the WRX's rear differential and engine tuning. WRX and WRX Sport get new red interior door stitching and all cars with the optional automatic transmission now come standard with Subaru's EyeSight active safety suite.
On the STI side, there's a new lower front bumper design for all trims and redesigned 19-inch wheels for Sport and Sport-tech trims, and the STI Sport gets passive keyless entry with push-button start.
CVT-equipped WRX models see increases of $1,100 to $1,400 to cover the cost of the new standard safety features. The elimination of a base WRX with the automatic means the cost of entry to a self-shifting model is now $35,795 for a Sport model, up from $31,295 for last year's base automatic package. The WRX Sport-tech RS sees a $700 bump to $39,695 for its Brembo braking system.
Otherwise, WRX and WRX STI prices rise by $100 to $300. The 2020 Subaru WRX and WRX STI will arrive in Canadian dealerships in September.
