2021 Jaguar I-Pace Refreshed with Faster Home Charging, More Connectivity Features

Jun 23, 2020

Summary
Electric SUV updated with more tech, faster home charging, and more.

The 2021 Jaguar I-Pace has been refreshed and the electric SUV gains more technology, a streamlined infotainment system, and faster AC charging.

Jaguar says the I-Pace now comes with an 11 kW onboard charger that with three-phase AC charging can add 53 km of range every hour, meaning drivers don’t need to install special charging equipment at home to get faster charging speeds. With this new charger, a full charge (377 km of range) from empty takes just 8.6 hours, perfect for overnight charging. The algorithm that calculates range should be more accurate now and even the graphics that display the battery’s state of charge have been made clearer.

Jaguar says the infotainment system has been improved to operate quicker and more like a smartphone with a simplified menu structure and now comes loaded with Spotify and self-learning navigation. The SUV also gets optional wireless phone charging and Bluetooth compatibility for two phones simultaneously, while a new dual modem 4G internet connection enables over-the-air updates, ensures maps and vehicle software are always up to date, and can provide real-time traffic and navigation info. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard.

Drivers will also benefit from enhanced visibility via a new 3D surround-view camera and a digital rear-view mirror, which shows a live camera feed from behind the car.

Visually, the I-Pace gets some new chrome trim in the grille, more paint colours, and new 19-inch wheels.

Canadian information, pricing, and availability have not yet been announced.
