Pricing for 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Announced

Toyota is getting ready for the hybrid versions of its new Tundra pickup to start arriving at dealers. The 2022 Toyota Tundra i-Force Max models go on sale this spring, starting from $66,390 (before destination fees).

The brand's full-size pickup was totally overhauled for 2022, with gas versions available at dealers now and the hybrid coming a few months later. The "i-Force Max" hybrid powertrain puts an electric motor in between the engine and 10-speed automatic transmission, for a total output of 437 hp and an impressive 583 lb-ft of torque. Towing comes in at up to 11,170 lbs or a max payload of 1,654 lbs, on par with gas models.

Fuel economy is one of the big perks of a hybrid, but Toyota hasn't yet revealed the ratings for this truck. With hybrid models offered exclusively with 4x4 and a crew cab, expect figures slightly better than the 13.6 L/100 km city, 10.4 highway offered by 3.5L twin-turbo gas-only models.

The entry-level for the i-Force Max hybrid Tundra is the Limited trim level, from $66,390 with a 5.5-foot box. That price marks a $3,900 premium over the non-hybrid Limited.

Toyota will also offer the new hybrid truck in Limited TRD Off Road trim, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 editions. The new top-spec Capstone trim, which adds exclusive wheels and special two-tone interior leather (among other high-fashion changes) will only be offered as a hybrid, ringing in at $84,150.
