2025 Toyota Crown Gets More Standard, but it Comes at a Cost
The 2025 Toyota Crown is getting more tech in the upcoming model year, as well as a big price hike in Canada.
Available in two trim levels, the entry-level Crown Limited benefits from the addition of digital key compatibility, which allows an owner to use their smartphone in place of a traditional key. In addition, it gains front cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, a driver monitor system, and a panoramic view monitor.
As previously, the 2025 Crown Limited is powered by a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.5L engine with two electric motors that combine to deliver 236 horsepower and part-time all-wheel-drive. The trim consumes an estimated 5.7 L/100 km combined.
For 2025, prices for the Crown Limited open at $57,947, which is over $2,900 more than it did in the 2024 model year.
Meanwhile, in 2025 the Crown Platinum will get a head-up display with navigation, rear-wheel steering, a power-adjusting steering wheel with memory settings, and a power trunk with a kick-sensor.
It’s powered by Toyota’s Hybrid Max powertrain, which combines a 2.4L turbocharged engine with torquier electric motors. All-in, the system makes an impressive 340 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, though the fuel economy is a little impressive as a result, and the vehicle consumes 7.8 L/100 km combined.
Prices for the 2025 Toyota Crown Platinum start at $67,380, which is nearly $2,700 more than the same model in 2024. Both it, and the Crown Limited are currently on sale at Toyota dealerships across Canada.
