Ford Lowers Price of BlueCruise Driver Assistance System in Canada

Summary
The American automaker is also simplifying its hands-free driving offerings for 2025.

Ford’s BlueCruise has quickly become one of the leading hands-free driving systems in the automotive industry, and Canadian buyers can now get it for a little less. The American automaker has decided to re-jig how it offers the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

In 2025, the annual fee to use BlueCruise will be $650, down from $900 in 2024. Buyers will also be able to subscribe to the ADAS system on a shorter term for $65 per month. Ford suggests that this fee structure could be useful for people who only want BlueCruise for a limited time, and allows owners to activate for, say, a road trip, and then deactivate it afterwards.

In addition, certain 2025 model year vehicles will offer buyers the opportunity to buy BlueCruise for a one-time fee of $3,295. In 2024, customers could only subscribe to the service for a three-year period, which cost $2,750.

BlueCruise allows drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel (though their eyes must remain on the road) on certain stretches of highway that have been mapped by the automaker. The service is available in the Ford Explorer, Expedition, F-150, F-150 Lightning, and the Mustang Mach-E. As in previous years, buyers who do not opt to activate the ADAS system from the factory will be given a 90-day free trial to experience the technology before committing to one of the purchase plans, if they so choose.
