For decades the letters G, T, and S have held special importance for Porsche customers because it’s the sweet spot in the lineup. Now, buyers interested in the updated 2025 Porsche Taycan can finally order the Gran Turismo Sport version of the all-electric sport sedan and wagon, which benefit from extra power, improved performance, and faster charging.
Updated for the 2025 model year, every Taycan gets a wide variety of significant improvements, including a new rear motor that produces an extra 107 horsepower. Naturally, the Taycan GTS sport sedan and Sport Turismo wagon are among the vehicles that receive the new motor, and total system output is bumped up to 690 hp, when launch control is in use. In addition, the car gets a new push-to-pass button thanks to the standard Sport Chrono Package, which gives drivers an extra 93 hp for up to 10 seconds at a time, to make highway overtakes easier. Thanks to the extra power, both 2025 Taycan GTS variants can now accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, an improvement of nearly half a second over earlier models.
To manage all that power, the cars are given GTS-specific chassis tuning. Indeed, the adaptive air suspension and torque vectoring combine with Porsche’s active suspension system to deliver optimal grip. Drivers who want even more advanced handling dynamics can opt for the rear-axle steering system, which shrinks the Taycan’s turning circle while also making it more stable on the highway.
In addition, the 2025 benefits from improved thermal management, more powerful batteries, a next-generation heat pump, and a modified energy recuperation system that can recover up to 400 kW under deceleration. The model can also be charged at a rate of up to 320 kW
As before, the Taycan GTS gets black or Anthracite Grey trim on the exterior and, new for 2025, the front and rear aprons get an inlay that is painted high gloss black. The last colour is used on the mirror caps, while the 20-inch Aero Design wheels and the optional 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels are painted Anthracite Grey, a touch that is exclusive to this model.
Inside, Porsche has borrowed a number of design cues from the top-of-the-line Taycan Turbo GT. That means leather and suede-like upholstery throughout the cabin, Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, and a GT multifunction steering wheel with the push-to-pass button. In terms of colours, buyers can opt for black, grey, or a Carmine Red interior. Outside, all Taycan buyers will now be able to select one of three new paint colours: Slate Grey Neo, Pale Blue Metallic, and Purple Sky Metallic.
Available to order now, prices for the 2025 Taycan GTS sports sedan start at $167,200, while the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo starts at $169,500. The first examples of the all-electric vehicle are set to land on our shores in the spring of 2025.
