Cadillac’s habit of selling the Escalade in two sizes continues with the all-electric Escalade IQL. The new electric vehicle (EV) adds more space for third-row passengers as well as more cargo space for their luggage.
At 5,803 mm (228.5 inches) in overall length, the Escalade IQL is around 100 mm (four inches) longer than the standard Escalade IQ. That translates to an extra 100 mm (four inches) of legroom and an additional 25 mm (one inch) of headroom for third-row passengers.
Better still, it means 686 L (24.2 cu. ft.) of cargo space behind the third row of seats, an increase of 18 L (0.6 cu. ft.) over the standard model. With the third row folded, there are 2,135 L (75.4) of cargo space behind the second row, and 3,546 L (125.6 cu. ft.) behind the first-row seats. That’s 179 L (6.3 cu. ft.) and 175 L (6.1 cu. ft.) more than the standard Escalade IQ, respectively.
Otherwise, things stay mostly the same. The Escalade IQL is powered by the same 205 kWh battery pack as the Escalade IQ, and it will also be able to go an estimated 740 km per charge despite the extra length.
As with the standard model, the battery pack sends electricity to a pair of motors that deliver as much as 750 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque when the driver-selectable Velocity Max mode is engaged. The EV will also be able to tow trailers weighing up to 3,400 kg (7,500 lbs).
Up front, the 2026 Escalade IQL also benefits from a 55-inch, pillar-to-pillar display and a standard 19-speaker AKG sound system (optional 36- and 40-speaker setups are also available for audiophiles). A three-year trial of Cadillac’s advanced driver assistance package, Super Cruise, is also standard.
Canadian pricing for the 2026 Cadillac IQL has yet to be announced, but the automaker has revealed that it will be available in four trims: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, and Premium Sport.
Production of this electric behemoth is expected to start in mid-2025, and sales will follow shortly after. In addition to the U.S. and Canada, Cadillac plans to sell the Escalade IQL in every global market in which it is represented.
