Kia aims for 90,000 annual sales for its planned EV truck.

Kia outlined its future strategy in a recent investor meeting and confirmed plans to expand its electric vehicle (EV) lineup and enter the electric truck market.

Kia already sells a gasoline-powered, midsize, body-on-frame truck in the global market called the Tasman. Kia plans to expand its truck lineup to North America with a similarly sized, off-road-oriented electric pickup truck, with an annual sales goal of about 90,000 units.

Kia’s plan also outlined an expansion of its EV lineup in North America with models such as the EV3, EV4, and EV5, which are expected to begin sales by 2026.

Similarly, Kia plans to expand its hybrid options to the rest of its lineup, with the Telluride and Seltos SUVs set to receive hybrid variants in the near future.

Kia also mentions its development of self-driving vehicles and self-driving technology. While full autonomous driving is not yet legal in Canada, it's likely that these development efforts will help improve Kia’s adaptive cruise control and safety systems.

Kia also outlined improvements to over-the-air updates and continued development of electric powertrains, specifically improvements for cold performance.
