Ford’s betting it isn’t only big families who could use some proper off-road capability in their SUVs, with its popular midsize model getting a cool new package of fun and functional features.
The 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor joins the larger Expedition in offering the yellow-accented treatment previously reserved for the brand’s pickups. As with the Expedition, the Tremor kit replaces the previously offered Timberline trim that came with a few extras to help it travel farther from civilization for those who enjoy that sort of stuff, although it’s all been amped up this time.
Where the Timberline rode on all-terrain tires and sported some cool orange accents, the Explorer Tremor adds a mild 25-mm (1.0-in) suspension lift, front and rear underbody skid plates, and a torque-sensing limited-slip differential. Under the hood, the standard four-cylinder engine that’s turbocharged to 300 hp can be swapped for the same twin-turbo V6 that comes in the silly Explorer ST.
As in that application, the 3.0L makes 400 hp and, presumably, 415 lb-ft of torque. No matter the motor, output is sent to all four wheels.

Beyond the anodized yellow accents outside — grille bar and tow hooks up front, badges and bumper strip around back, and wheel pockets at all four corners — the cabin boasts stitching on the dash, doors, and seats to match. Likewise, the Tremor wordmark is embroidered in yellow on the front seats.
Meanwhile, the latest version of Ford’s hands-free highway drive assist system will be offered with the Tremor trim, with BlueCruise providing automatic lane change functionality. (It does, however, have to first be prompted by the driver using the signal stalk.) Massaging front seats and a 14-speaker stereo will also be available optionally.
The 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor is available to order now. It’s expected to arrive at dealers late this year.
