Refreshed Jaguar F-Type Spotted

Jul 18, 2016

Summary
A new bumper, new headlights, and maybe new infotainment for the loudest Jag

A Jaguar F-Type test car has been spotted doing development duties with new bumpers and updated headlights. The F-Type R convertible was photographed near Jaguar's Coventry HQ showing a new bumper with more rounded corner grilles, and a horizontal slat in place of the vertically split grilles of the current car. There also appear to be new daytime running lights in the refreshed headlights, with a dual row at the bottom replacing the old L-shaped lights. The new running lights have already been seen on prototypes of the still-in-development four-cylinder F-Type. The test car is reported to be using the same supercharged 5.0L V8 as the current car.

Along with the mild nose job, the F-type is expected to get Jag's newest InControl Touch Pro infotainment and smartphone integration as found in the F-Pace SUV. That system gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen, quad-core processor, and a 60 GB hard drive, although the F-type may get a smaller screen to fit better in the smaller dash.

No date for the official reveal has yet been given, but early next year is the likely target.
