Mazda Prices 2019 CX-9

Sep 13, 2018

Summary
Finally, CarPlay and Auto support

On top of an updated infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment, the 2019 Mazda CX-9 will see some further updates along with a revised trim and pricing structure.

The only engine and transmission on offer continue to be the SkyActiv-G 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with the six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is still available on the base GS trim, though it’s somewhat more overshadowed now, with a number of key safety features downloaded onto the all-wheel-drive-equipped GS.

Among the upgrades being applied across the board are: improved tactile feel on the roof liner and the second-row armrest; visual upgrades to the assist handles and the backs of the front seats; and improved damper and body control and turn-in responsiveness through suspension updates.

The same four grades are available for 2019.

The base GS trim is priced at $36,700 with front-wheel drive and, as mentioned above, now comes with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

Adding all-wheel drive to this trim for a total price of $40,000 integrates the features that were formerly part of the i-Activsense package (radar cruise control with stop-and-go, smart brake support, pedestrian detection, distance recognition support, forward obstruction warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beams, colour centre gauge display). This price is $200 more than last year’s equivalent trim, which reflects the addition of the smartphone app functionality.

The GS-L trim, priced at $43,300 (vs $42,900 with the i-Activsense package in 2018), comes with the same features as the GS AWD trim plus 20-inch light grey high-lustre alloy wheels, which were previously available only on the GT model.

In the GT trim, now priced $1,200 higher at $48,500, a suite of new-to-CX-9 features becomes available, including ventilated front seats, a 360-degree monitor, a redesigned digital gauge cluster, automatic power folding exterior mirrors, and SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel Link services along with a five-year trial subscription.

Finally, the top-of-the-line Signature trim also goes up $1,200 to $51,500 and includes the features available with the GT model as well as a new frameless auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

The 2019 CX-9 is available now.
