2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV Will Be Able to Go Nearly 800 KM Per Charge

With a collection of small improvements, General Motors has managed to make the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV go 10 per cent farther per charge than the 2024 model could. That means a maximum possible range of 792 km (according to the automaker’s own estimates for the 4WT trim), as compared to 724 km in 2024.
A Chevrolet spokesperson told AutoTrader that the extra range came from a variety of small optimizations, including improved motors, magnets, and inverters, as well as slicker aerodynamics. It all contributes to better coast down as well as greater efficiency, and means the truck can go farther with every charge, which is a big deal for consumers.
"Truck customers tell us range is one of the main barriers to considering an EV. The 2024 Silverado EV was already the range leader, and for this new model year, we’ve set the bar even higher," said James Hodge, Brand Director, Chevrolet Canada. "This increased capability and accessibility is great news for the segment, the industry, and the brand.”
The improvements were made throughout the lineup, though they resulted in less extra range elsewhere. For example, the Silverado EV 3WT work truck with the smaller Extended Range battery pack (as opposed to the 4WT’s Max Range pack) now goes 679 km per charge, up from 632 in 2024. Meanwhile, the consumer-oriented Silverado EV RST can now go up to 740 km per charge up from 724 km last year.
And there’s more good news for private consumers (rather than those buying the business-oriented WT work trucks) as a new trim has been added that will slot in under the RST. The LT will be available with an Extended Range battery pack, enabling it to go up to 657 km per charge. Its motors will provide drivers with 645 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to tow up to 12,500 lbs (5,670 kg) and to haul 1,800 lbs (816 kg).
The LT package also comes with a unique front fascia, standard 18-inch aluminum wheels, Multi-Flex tailgate, and 17.7-inch infotainment screen. With the Premium Package, the truck can only go 628 km, but also gets a Multi-Flex Midgate, available Super Cruise, and 22-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels.
Unfortunately, Canadian pricing has not yet been announced on any 2025 Silverado EV, though Chevrolet plans to publicize those details later this year. The new model year trucks will be available for customers close to the end of 2024.
