2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T is Manual-Only, Available as Cabriolet for First Time

The lightest 2025 Porsche 911 that will be available to buyers has officially been unveiled, and it’s sure to have enthusiasts drooling. Exclusively equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, the 911 Carrera T tips the scales at 1,478 kg (3,258 lbs), which is up to 42 kg (92 lbs) lighter than the current 911 Carrera.
Porsche shed pounds by equipping the model with less sound insulation, fitting lightweight windows, and only offering buyers the manual transmission. Porsche will also cut the top off the Carrera T for the first time in 2025. Unfortunately, the automaker hasn’t revealed how much that will change the overall weight of the sports car.
The automaker hopes that manual transmission will make the 911 Carrera T appeal to enthusiasts, and is highlighting the feature with H-pattern stickers on either of its rear quarter windows and on the passenger’s side of the dashboard. An “MT” (manual transmission) badge will also be installed ahead of the shift lever, which is topped with an open-pore walnut laminated wood knob, in a nod to classic Porsches, like the Carrera GT.
The transmission itself is affixed to a 3.0L flat-six engine that generates 388 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels. For the first time in a Carrera T model, that rear axle will also help turn the car. Specially tuned for this model, the rear axle steering system helps the car feel more precise and helps speed up steering response, the automaker says.
To ensure the car stays composed through the corners, it also receives the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) as standard. This lowers the suspension by 10 mm to make it more agile and composed through the bends. The front and rear anti-roll bars have been tuned for neutral handling and the spoiler lip borrowed from the 911 GTS helps it remain stable at high speeds.
From an aesthetic point of view, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T pays homage to the automaker’s rich history. The German manufacturer will offer three Legends colours: Shade Green Metallic, Chalk, and Slate Grey Neo; as well as four Dreams colours: Guards Red, Lugano Blue, Gentian Blue Metallic, and Cartagena Yellow Metallic. Buyers who want a more subdued colour palette can opt for one of the Shades colours: Jet Black Metallic, GT Silver Metallic, and Ice Grey Metallic.
Inside, the 911 Carrera T comes standard with the Sport Chrono package, which adds a stopwatch on the dash. Black, four-way adjustable seats will be equipped as standard, but bucket seats can be selected by buyers dedicated to the car’s lightweight mission. The interior will feature a tartan pattern that is exclusive to the 911 Carrera T.
Porsche Canada says that the 2025 911 Carrera T will arrive on our shores next summer, and prices will start at $149,200 for the hardtop version, and $165,300 for the Cabriolet.
