Preview: The 2026 Cadillac Vistiq is a 3-Row EV for Fancy Families

Summary
Hands-free highway driving comes standard and range is expected to be about 483 km.

The 2026 Cadillac Vistiq will offer luxury shoppers one of the first fully-electric three-row options when it goes on sale in the second quarter of next year.

The Vistiq sits in the middle of the brand’s electric vehicle (EV) lineup above the two-row Lyriq and below the forthcoming Escalade IQ. Similar in size and profile to the gas-powered XT6, the Vistiq also has room for seven passengers.

The Vistiq shares the so-called Ultium EV platform developed by parent company General Motors (GM), and its 102-kWh battery pack will offer an estimated 483 km of range.

Tons of Power

The Vistiq will boast a generous 615 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, standard all-wheel drive, one-pedal driving, active noise cancellation, and standard Super Cruise — GM’s hands-free highway driving system. Cadillac says the Vistiq can reach highway speeds from a standstill in less than four seconds, and will come with optional rear-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension, which will help make it easier to manoeuvre and ride more smoothly.

Bi-directional charging turns the EV SUV into a mobile generator that will be useful for outdoor excursions. It also enables vehicle-to-home energy transfer, which can help a household take more control of their reliance on the electrical grid if properly equipped. An owner can charge the Vistiq during off-peak overnight hours and then supply energy back to the home during peak hours, cutting electricity costs. The Premium Luxury trim will come with an onboard Level 2 charger. No information on charging times or speeds was revealed at the time of writing.

Big On Technology

Inside, a large new 33-inch curved screen dominates the dashboard to combine drive information with the main touchscreen, and Cadillac has done away with almost all physical buttons in favour of touchscreen controls. Climate functions are always visible and are controlled via a separate touchscreen that sits lower on the dashboard. The wireless charging pad in the front row has room for two phones, and ventilated and massaging front seats are available along with heated second-row captain’s chairs.

The Vistiq is quite handsome in person and comes alive at night with lighting in its large grille, giving it a unique look in the dark. The SUV’s overhangs are short, the door handles are flush-mounted, the available wheels are huge (between 21 and 23 inches), and the wheels are pushed out far into the corners, giving the Vistiq great proportions and a strong stance. The graphic pattern on the rear quarter glass is meant to provide extra shade and privacy for passengers in the third row.

Cadillac promises third-row passengers will be as comfortable as those in the second row with plenty of space, their own climate settings, padded armrests, cup holders, smartphone storage, their own sunroof, and USB ports for charging.

The second row can hold a forward-facing child seat and still slide and tumble forward enough to ease access into the third row, and the second and third rows can be electronically folded from the trunk with one touch. There’s no frunk, but the cabin offers plenty of options for small-item storage with a pass-through under the centre console, huge door pockets, underfloor storage options, and cubbies throughout the cabin.

Final Thoughts

Production of the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq is set to begin in early 2025 in Tennessee and will launch with three trims — the Luxury, Sport, and Premium Luxury. A fully-loaded Platinum trim will join the lineup in the summer. Canadian pricing and more details will be announced closer to its launch in the second quarter of 2025.
