Genesis’ track-ready project will make its debut in Canada.

It's rare for a project vehicle to debut in Canada, but that’s exactly what Genesis plans to do with the one-off G70 Track Day Special Concept that it unveiled today. The concept car will make its public debut later this month at Genesis Markham and is designed to show off the brand’s high-performance potential

The G70 Track Day Special Concept features a massive wing, track-focused suspension, and race-ready wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, all in an effort to improve the car’s handling. Other additions include body enhancements such as a hood vent, splitter, and spoilers also help it finish laps faster.

The additional aerodynamic elements also add to the look of the track edition G70, all of which will be complemented by orange Nordschleife decals on a matte black car. Power in the G70 comes from a 3.3L twin-turbo V6 that produces 365 hp and 376 lb-ft.

The G70 Track Day Special Concept is based on the brand’s Nurburgring track taxi. The program allows guests to accompany professional drivers for a tour of the famous 20.8 km racetrack in a lightly modified G70.

The new concept's tour of the country is set to begin on May 22nd in Markham, Ont., and is set to extend to other Genesis distributors later on.
