Stellantis is Bringing Back its SRT Performance Division

Summary
The SRT division will work on models across all of Stellantis’ North American brands.

Stellantis announced today that it’s bringing back its cross-brand performance division, Street and Racing Technology (SRT), in the near future. The department will be led by Tim Kuniskis, who is also the CEO of Ram, and today added Head of American Brands and North America Marketing to his lengthy resumé.

Formerly the head of the Dodge brand, Kuniskis was the man in charge during the heyday of the last-generation Challenger and Charger, as well as the introduction of the all-electric Charger. Since taking the helm at Ram, he brought back the Hemi V8 to the brand’s portfolio. Although the SRT brand was never formally discontinued, and Dodge buyers can still order a Durango SRT, Stellantis hasn't introduced any new SRT products in quite some time.

Although no upcoming SRT vehicles have been announced at this time, Kuniskis, who is charge of SRT, promised that he would bring together the best performance engineers from across its four American brands — Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Chrysler — to develop vehicles that “push the boundaries of power, aerodynamics, handling and technology, on both the street and the track.”

While that team comes together, Kuniskis will also be charged with overseeing Stellantis’ four American brands, as well as marketing for North America. He will report directly to Stellantis CEO and COO Antonio Filosa. Despite that, he will maintain his position as CEO of Ram, while the CEOs at its other brands — Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler — will maintain their positions.

“Tim has proven time and time again that he is masterful at building brands that reach the heart and soul of the customer,” said Filosa. “We will leverage his energy, his strategic mindset and his competitive spirit to supercharge all our brand activities.”
