Summary
The Q6 Sportback E-tron sacrifices some headroom for better looks and efficiency.

Despite an industry-wide slowdown in new electric vehicle (EV) debuts, Audi’s product offensive is forging ahead with the North American debut of the 2025 Q6 E-tron. Like its other crossovers, the German automaker is adding a coupefied version to the Q6 lineup.

Unsurprisingly, the new crossover is based on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which we’ve now seen in the A6 E-tron and the Porsche Macan Electric. The underpinnings should work well in both the Q6 and the sportier SQ6 Sportback E-tron.

The major difference between the Q6 E-tron and the Sportback version is that roof has been lowered by 37 mm (1.4 inches) in the latter. However, thanks to its clever design, Audi says interior space has not been compromised. Stay tuned for our First Drive review to find out if we agree with the automaker.

The sleek design may offer more than just aesthetic benefits. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Q6 Sportback E-tron’s 100 kWh battery pack will offer a driving range of around 513 km per charge. By comparison, the equivalent non-Sportback Q6 E-tron can only go 494 km before it needs to be plugged in.

An 800V architecture allows for fast-charging, at a maximum rate of 270 kW. As a result, Audi says that it can go from 10 to 80 per cent charge in just 21 minutes at a an appropriate charging station.

The Q6 E-tron will get a motor at each axle, ensuring that all buyers will benefit from Quattro all-wheel drive. However, the motor at the rear axle will be the more powerful one, giving the electric crossover a sporty, rear-wheel dominant driving experience. The front axle will also pull its weight, though. Repositioned tie rods improve the SUV’s feeling of agility and steering precision.

Inside, the Q6 Sportback E-tron will be familiar to anyone who has tested one of Audi’s newest models. The dash is rich in screens, featuring an integrated digital display behind the steering and between the front seats, not to mention the third screen for the passenger.

The new 2025 Audi Q6 Sportback E-tron is currently on sale, with prices starting at $90,345. The higher-performance SQ6 Sportback E-tron is also higher-priced, with MSRPs starting at $99,895.
