Prices will increase by around $1,300 for the all-new eighth-generation Nissan Sentra, but not by an enormous amount. Despite the price hike, a starting price of just under $28,000 means the sedan stays on the cheaper side of the compact car pack.
To be precise, the 2026 Nissan Sentra S starts at $27,887 (all prices include relevant destination charges), which is considerably less than the 2026 Honda Civic LX ($31,316) or the 2026 Volkswagen Jetta ($29,180), but it costs a bit more than the 2025 Kia K4 ($26,829) or the 2025 Toyota Corolla ($26,918) — all are the most up to date prices available at time of writing.
Meanwhile, the sportier-looking Sentra SR starts at $32,287. For that, buyers get gloss black trim, such as side sills and rear spoiler, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels and more. Elsewhere, the Sentra is available with 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment and instrument screens, an around view monitor, moving object detection, Zero Gravity seats, and forward collision alert.
No matter which model you opt for, the 2026 Sentra is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that makes 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. A manual transmission is no longer available, and all cars will feature a continuously-variable transmission (CVT). Nissan estimates that the S and SV models will consume 7.1 L/100 km in combined driving, which in-line with its direct competitors, though unlike Toyota or Honda, Nissan does not offer a fuel-sipping hybrid powertrain with the Sentra.
