Subaru Canada’s two newest vehicles are both electric and we now know that they will be priced to compete in their segments. Although they won’t be the most affordable new electric vehicles (EVs) in Canada, the subcompact Uncharted, in particular, won’t be far off that honour.
That’s because the brand new model will start at $45,852 (including freight charges and other non-negotiable fees) for the front-wheel drive base model. That’s just a few hundred dollars more than the base Kia EV5 Light FWD — Canada's fourth cheapest EV and arguably its cheapest subcompact electric SUV for 2026 — will cost ($45,495). The Subaru will offer a little less cargo space than the Kia (700 L for the former as compared to 965 L for the latter) but will offer a little more power (221 hp for the Subaru as compared to 215 hp for the Kia), making them close competitors.
Final range estimates for the base model Uncharted have not yet been revealed, but the FWD Long Range, which has a starting price of $49,852, will be powered by a 77 kWh battery and Subaru estimates that it will be good for a very respectable 480 km of range.
Higher trim models (the Sport and the GT, to be specific) will come with all-wheel drive, shortening their ranges slightly. With the same 77 kWh battery to draw from, Subaru anticipates that these model will be good for 460 km of range and will be capable of charging from 10 – 80 per cent in 30 minutes (under ideal circumstances).

Meanwhile, Subaru’s new Trailseeker will cost a few thousand dollars more than the closely related but smaller Solterra. Indeed, in the base Touring trim, the Trailseeker will cost $57,852. That’s around $2,500 more than the Solterra, whose base AWD trim starts at $55,327.
That’s not bad for a vehicle that 150 mm longer and 25 mm taller than Solterra, thereby offering more cargo capacity (final cargo volume figures for the Trailseeker have not been shared at time of writing).
Oddly, the despite being larger than the Uncharted, the Trailseeker gets a smaller 74.7 kWh battery pack. That means that the larger SUV will have just 420 km of range, per Subaru’s estimates. Its twin motor AWD system delivers 375 hp and will allow the model to tow up to 1,500 kg.
Both the Trailseeker and the Uncharted are expected to reach dealer showrooms across Canada this spring.
